Hello! This is my third year of teaching music at Matt Arthur, and I love it! I also direct the chorus at MAES, the "Notable Knights" for 3rd-5th graders. We meet once or twice a week after school throughout the school year and perform several concerts for the public, including the Sacred Heart Fall Festival, the Winter Concert with the Veterans High School Choir in December, and the Perry Parade. We have performed at the Galleria Mall, and last year we put on a full musical in the spring on the Matt Arthur stage.
My musical background includes playing the French horn and cello, and I was in Show Choir in school. I perform regularly with the Wellston Winds, a community band based in Warner Robins. I also give private French horn lessons from my home, and I enjoy preparing my students for their All-State auditions and seeing them develop as musicians. I am also on the board for the Warner Robins Community Concert Association, which organizes a concert series each season. Students get in free!
My family moved here five years ago from Kansas. My husband is the head of the music theory department at Mercer University. My three children love music, too! My daughter is majoring in clarinet performance, and my sons play piano, organ, trumpet, and trombone. Our house is always buzzing with music!
I can't wait to meet you and your child this year! I hope you have a wonderful school year and have a blast making music!!!
